New Works from Lydia Johnston. Labor Day weekend is fast approaching and packed with amazing events in and around Taos! For a second year, Lydia Johnston will be showing her new work in cold wax and oil at magpie over the weekend. Starting with a First Friday event September 4th from 4-6 and continuing into the weekend with a meet and greet with Lydia Saturday and Sunday, 11-2.

Homage. This exhibition and sale will see artists use the concept of acknowledging individuals who have significantly influenced their professional paths or personal lives.
To pay homage can manifest in various forms, such as referencing, imitating, or reinterpreting elements of the artist's work within one's own creations. It serves to acknowledge the influence and significance of the original artist, often enriching the new work with layers of meaning and context.

An exclusive trunk show featuring a curated collection of signature, handcrafted fur felt and straw hats for men and women, including exclusive styles only available at in-person events. Each piece is made with premium materials sourced globally and finished by hand in STORM's Santa Fe studio.

Mary Doolittle, Demonstration & Miniature Oil Painting Exhibition. Join artist Mary Doolittle as she paints her popular oil miniatures during First Friday. Live Music by Man of Kent. Man of Kent is a Taos-based musical project featuring Anne Speroni, Ditto Nowakoski, and Tara Somerville. Playing mostly original songs with the occasional inspired cover, the trio brings together three distinct musical backgrounds: Anne is a member of the longtime beloved local band Art of Flying; Tara is a solo musician originally from New York; and songwriter Ditto recently returned to Taos after 23 years in Seattle. Together, they make music that is sometimes strange, always original, and hopefully beautiful.
